Texans benefit from free charging with Nissan LEAF
With a whole year of charging offered for free, Texans now have more reasons than ever to go electric with the Nissan LEAF. The "No Charge to Charge" programme gives Dallas-Fort Worth and greater Houston residents’ unlimited access to a public charging network if they buy or lease a Nissan LEAF between October 2013 and the end of March 2014.

The initiative is a partnership between Nissan and NRG eVgo, a company committed to realising America’s first ever privately-funded EV ecosystem. So far, NRG eVgo’s Freedom Station® charging network covers 23 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and 17 in greater Houston, as well as charging points at both city airports. Stations are generally open 24 hours a day and are located near shopping outlets or restaurants, allowing drivers to shop or eat while their vehicles charge.

Those who qualify for the programme will benefit from a year’s free access to the network. With DC fast charging points available at certain stations, drivers will be able to charge up to 80% of their vehicle's battery in less than half an hour.

Thanks partly to the efforts of NRG eVgo, which also supplies charging docks for home and work, Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the United States’ fastest growing markets for the Nissan LEAF, with a 500% increase on deliveries this year relative to 2012. And with the launch of "No Charge to Charge", demand for the LEAF is set to keep on growing.
