Chairman and CEO, Renault-Nissan BV

Biography

Carlos Ghosn is chairman and chief executive officer of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, one of the world’s largest automotive groups. Mr. Ghosn also heads France’s Groupe Renault and Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., and is chairman of Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
 
In addition, Mr. Ghosn oversees the Alliance’s majority interest in the joint venture that controls AVTOVAZ, Russia’s largest automaker and manufacturer of Lada vehicles.
 
The Alliance companies combined employ more than 450,000 people in nearly 200 countries, and operate 122 manufacturing plants. Renault, Nissan and AVTOVAZ together sold more than 8.5 million vehicles in 2015 – more than one in 10 cars worldwide. With Nissan’s acquisition of a controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motors in October 2016, that total is expected to reach 10 million vehicles for fiscal year 2016.
 
Mr. Ghosn has been the industry's leading advocate for sustainable transportation; Renault and Nissan are the first automakers to have launched a range of affordable zero-emission cars and commercial vehicles. The Alliance companies cumulatively have sold more than 375,000 electric vehicles – accounting for about half of all EVs on the road today.
 
Mr. Ghosn joined Nissan as chief operating officer in 1999 and chief executive officer in 2001. He was the lead architect of the Nissan Revival Plan, which brought the company out of a severe economic crisis in the late 1990s and back to profitability in 2000. 
 
In 2005, Mr. Ghosn became chief executive officer of Renault, making him the first executive to run two Fortune Global 500 companies simultaneously. In 2009, he added the title of chairman of the board of Renault. From 2013 to 2016, he served as chairman of AVTOVAZ.
 
Renault and Nissan enjoy the most productive and longest-lasting cross-cultural partnership in automotive history. The Alliance also has significant strategic collaborations with Daimler of Germany and China’s Dongfeng Motor.
 
The Alliance’s top 10 markets in 2015 were the United States, China, France, Japan, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Brazil and Spain.  Its vehicles are sold under the Renault, Dacia, Renault Samsung, Nissan, Infiniti, Datsun, Mitsubishi, Venucia and Lada brands.
 
Mr. Ghosn serves on the International Advisory Council of Tsinghua University in Beijing and the Strategic Council of Saint Joseph University in Beirut.  He is the only major auto industry CEO born and raised in emerging markets. Born in Brazil in 1954, he spent much of his youth in Lebanon. He graduated with engineering degrees from France’s École Polytechnique in 1974 and from École des Mines de Paris in 1978.

Arnaud Deboeuf

Alliance Senior Vice President of Renault-Nissan BV and the Alliance CEO’s Office

Biography

Arnaud Deboeuf was appointed Alliance Senior Vice President of Renault-Nissan BV and the Alliance CEO’s Office on April 1, 2015. He reports directly to Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
 
Deboeuf is responsible for strengthening and deepening the cooperation within the Alliance in order to accelerate each partner’s performance and efficiency. He serves as Secretary of the RNBV Board and is a member of the Alliance Management Committee, which was created in 2014 to manage the convergence of four major Renault and Nissan functions: Engineering, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Human Resources. He is also responsible for the dedicated Alliance Global Executive Team, which is in charge of accelerating synergies and best practices in other functions.
 
Deboeuf joined Renault in 1993 as an engineer, working first in the Process Engineering Department and then in the Manufacturing Department. In 2004, he was appointed Head of Purchasing Strategy and Cost Control at Renault Samsung Motors in South Korea. Returning to France in 2007, he became Deputy Program Director for Renault’s Entry Range. 
 
He joined the Alliance in 2010 with responsibility for the Common Module Family (CMF)-A project. In 2012, he took over as Program Director of Renault’s Entry Range.
 
A French national, Arnaud Deboeuf holds diplomas in engineering from both the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale des Pont et Chaussées.
 
Deboeuf was born in April 1967.

Ogi Redzic

Alliance Senior Vice-President, Connected Vehicles and Mobility Services

Biography

Ogi Redzic was appointed Alliance Senior Vice President, Connected Vehicles and Mobility Services on January 7th, 2016.
 
He jointly reports to Nissan Chief Competitive Officer Hiroto Saikawa and Renault Chief Competitive Officer Thierry Bollore.
 
Redzic is responsible for accelerating the validation process for connectivity applications so customers can experience it across all Alliance brands. The team develops and manages partnerships with technology companies and relevant suppliers, and encourages a startup mindset within one of the world’s top four car groups. Finally, the team is also introducing new mobility services on behalf of the Alliance.
 
Redzic is based in Paris and oversees teams in Renault’s TechnoCentre in France and Nissan Technical Center in Atsugi, Japan.
 
Before joining Renault-Nissan Ogi Redzic had several positions at Nokia, NAVTEQ, Motorola, and at wireless communication startup cyberPIXIE. He most recently served as Senior Vice President, Automotive at Nokia HERE, where he led the Automotive Business Group. In this role, he managed a team of more than 600 people on five continents, with major development centers in Germany and the United States. His team led HERE’s efforts in Embedded Navigation, Automotive Cloud Services, Intelligent Transportation Services and Automated Driving, including HD Live Map.
 
Redzic has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Northeastern Illinois University, a master’s degree in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Redzic is also a member of the Global Agenda Council on the Future of Automotive & Personal Transportation organized by World Economic Forum. He was born in 1971.

Véronique Sarlat-Depotte

Purchasing Alliance Global Executive Vice President and Chairman & Managing Director of Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization

Biography

Véronique Sarlat-Depotte was appointed Purchasing Alliance Global Executive Vice President and Chairman & Managing Director of Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization, effective November 1st 2016.
 
On January 1st, 2015, Véronique Sarlat-Depotte was appointed Renault-Nissan Alliance Global SVP, Purchasing and Deputy Managing Director of Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization (RNPO), also becoming a member of Renault Management Committee. She reported to Yasuhiro Yamauchi, Purchasing Alliance EVP, Purchasing and Chairman & Managing Director of RNPO.
 
Véronique Sarlat-Depotte began her career at Renault in 1989 as part of the Purchasing Division. She has held several positions within Renault and Nissan, in France and Japan, within Purchasing, RNPO and CEO Office. In 2005, she was appointed Deputy General Manager, Purchasing Strategy at Nissan Motors Limited in Japan before being promoted General Manager in 2007 at the Japan Headquarters. In 2009, she was appointed GM, RNPO Vehicle Body Parts within RNPO. In 2010, she was promoted Vice President, RNPO Body & Electrical. In 2014, she became Alliance Global Director, RNPO Body & Electrical. Véronique Sarlat-Depotte graduated from the EPF with an engineering degree in 1989.  
Celso Guiotoko

Alliance Global Vice President, IS/IT

Biography

Celso Guiotoko started his professional career in Information Technology in 1983 when he joined BRADESCO Brazilian bank before joining Andersen Consulting LLP in 1985 working in Sao Paulo, Chicago WHQ and Tokyo office.

In addition to his activities in the business world, from 1986 to 1988, he became Assistant Professor for Information Technology, at the Universidade Estadual de Sao Paulo where he also supervised the Internship Programme.

In 1996 he joined Toshiba America Electronic Components in North America as the Director of Information System, moving to i2 Technologies in Japan as the head of Consulting Service at the end of 1997.

Celso Guiotoko joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in May 2004 as Vice President in charge of the Global IS Division and was promoted to Corporate Vice President of the Division in April 2006.

In June 2009, he added the role of Managing Director in charge of IS/IT functions for the Renault-Nissan Alliance. His tasks are to maximise the synergies in IS/IT functions and identify potential synergies in Alliance business systems.

Celso Guiotoko was born in January 1959 in Brazil. He attended the Escola Politecnica – Civil Engineering and the Faculdade de Economia e Administracao – Accounting Science of the Universidade de Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Gérard Detourbet

Gérard Detourbet

Alliance Global Vice President, Alliance A-Segment Development Unit

Biography

Celebrating more than 40 years with Renault, Gérard Detourbet began his career with the company in 1971 in the IT training centre. Two years later, in 1973, he became head of operational research at the Logistics and Production Department before moving to take charge of mechanical economic studies for the Economic Studies and Planning Department in 1976.

During the 1980s he became involved in body assembly projects, being appointed project manager for the Renault 25 body in 1980 and then departmental head of Decentralised Methods at Renault’s Sandouville plant in 1983. Two years later, in 1985, he returned to Billancourt as head of Central Methods, Assembly for the Body Assembly Department.

In the 1990s, he moved to the Powertrain Department as Project Manager, Engines (1991), becoming Powertrain Manager in 1997. For the past decade, however, Gérard Detourbet has been deeply involved in Renault’s entry vehicle programmes, notably Logan.

He was appointed Head of Industrial Development and Dacia vehicle projects before being appointed Entry Program Director in 2003. In January 2012, he was appointed Managing Director of the Renault-Nissan Alliance A-Segment Development Unit, charged with the development of a small A-segment vehicle on a platform shared with Nissan. The vehicle will be produced in India, for sale there and in other emerging markets.

Gérard Detourbet was born on 28 September 1946 in Paris.

Nils Saclier

Alliance Global Director, Advanced Technology & Product Planning

Biography

Nils Saclier was appointed Alliance Global Director, Advanced Technology & Product Planning, Renault-Nissan B.V, on Jan. 1, 2017. 
 
He reports directly to Arnaud Deboeuf, Alliance Senior Vice President of Renault-Nissan BV and the Alliance CEO’s Office, and functionally to Bruno Ancelin, Executive Vice President, Product Planning and Programs, Renault SAS, and Philippe Klein, Chief Planning Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
 
As head of the Alliance product planning office, Nils Saclier, along with his team, is responsible for and providing the Alliance’s input to long-range technology, product and powertrain plans. 
 
Nils Saclier joined Renault S.A.S. in 1999 as Engineer in the fields of software and IT systems. He held various positions within Vehicle Engineering before moving Renault Corporate Product Planning in 2008. He then joined the EV Program in 2011 as deputy Program Director in charge of Twizy. In 2014 he was appointed deputy Program Director, C-Segment, Renault SAS in charge Megane line-up.
 
Nils Saclier is a French national and hold an Engineering Degree from Supélec. He was born in 1974.

Takao Asami

Alliance Global Vice President, Research and Advanced Engineering

Biography

As Senior Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., and also the Alliance Global Vice President, Research and Advanced Engineering, Takao Asami has a wide ranging role, which includes building the company’s strategy in the research and technology space to ensure that it remains a competitive force in the future. 
 
Takao Asami has spent more than 30 years working for Nissan, joining in 1981. He spent 15 years working through the company before moving to Nissan Technical Centre North America in Detroit, in the United States, in 1995. Six years later, when Nissan launched its IT Engineering Department, Takao Asami returned to Japan to lead the team and help develop the company’s expertise.
 
In April 2006 he transferred to Nissan’s Alliance partner, Renault. Three years later he was back at Nissan as the Corporate Vice President in charge of the Nissan Research Centre. Takao Asami was appointed as Senior Vice President in charge of Technology Planning and Advanced Engineering in April 2013. He was appointed to his current role in April 2014.
 
Takao Asami is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) and the University of Southern California (Master of Sciences in Electrical Engineering).
Jacques Verdonck

Jacques Verdonck

Alliance Global Director, Cooperation with Daimler Group

Biography

Appointed as the Alliance Director in charge of the Strategic Cooperation with Daimler AG in May 2010, Jacques Verdonck started his career with Renault in 1992.

After an early career (1979-1983) with the French Ministry of Industry, where he was Secrétaire Général de la Direction de la Qualité et de la Sécurité Industrielle, Verdonck was appointed CEO of CERLAB in 1984, helping to develop partnerships between state-owned laboratories and laboratories in developing countries and also promoting French know-how in the fields of quality, certification and testing.

In 1992, he became Vice President, Cooperation and Strategy, Renault Trucks, where amongst various responsibilities he was charged with developing a partnership with ZF Friedrichshafen AG and the Irisbus joint venture with Iveco. In 1999, he was appointed Executive Vice President of Strategy and Product Development for Irisbus Holding SL.

Jacques Verdonck returned to Renault in April 2000 as Vice President, Planning and Strategy (Sales and Marketing) and by September 2001 had been appointed Vice President, Corporate and Strategic Planning, for the Renault Group. He oversaw the partnership with Avtovaz in Russia and the development of the Renault brand in Iran, India and Morocco, as well as negotiated the Strategic Cooperation between the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler AG, a role which led directly to his current position.

Jacques Verdonck was born on November 22, 1954 and is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris.

Thierry Bolloré

Executive Vice President, Chief Competitive Officer, Renault Group

Biography

Thierry Bolloré started his career in 1990 at Michelin, as shop manager in a heavy truck tire factory. In 1993, he became Chief of process and quality central Group for worldwide heavy truck factories, prior to taking the head of method group for heavy truck business units in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. In 1997, he moved to Japan, as Industrial Assistant of Michelin Passenger car factory, and to Thailand in1998, as production manager in truck factory, before being named Managing Director of Truck and Aircraft Businesses.

He was appointed Vice-President in charge of industry for Michelin Aircraft Business worldwide in 2002. Thierry Bolloré joined Faurecia in 2005 to become Vice President Asia of Exhaust Systems Product Group, based in China, and then Vice-President worldwide in charge of Marketing, R&D, Programs, Strategy, Business Development. In 2010, he moved to Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, as Vice-President in charge of Europe and South Africa prior to becoming Vice-President worldwide, responsible for Industry, Quality and Purchasing.

As of September 1st, 2012, Thierry Bolloré joined Renault group. After an induction period, he has been appointed EVP Manufacturing and Supply Chain, as of October 15th, 2012. He is a member of the group executive committee.

On September 10, 2013, he is appointed Chief Competitive Officer.

Makoto Uchida

Purchasing Alliance Global Vice President and Nissan Corporate Officer

Biography

Makoto Uchida was appointed Purchasing Alliance Global Vice President and Nissan Corporate Officer, effective November 1st 2016.
 
Makoto Uchida joined Nissan in 2003 as Clerk to Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization (RNPO). He was appointed Manager of RNPO in 2006, and in 2010, he was promoted to Vice President of RNPO in charge of Paint Industrial and Logistics.
 
In 2012, he moved to Renault Samsung Motors where he served as Senior Executive Managing Director in charge of Program and Total Cost Delivery management. As of April 2014, Mr. Uchida served as Program Director in charge of Datsun.
 
Prior to joining Nissan he was Assistant Manager, Automotive Department, Nissho Iwai Corporation. He graduate from Doshisha University.
Jérémie Papin

Jérémie Papin

Alliance Global Director, Alliance Finance, VP, Corporate Strategy & Business Development

Biography

Jérémie Papin is an Alliance Global Director and responsible for the financial strategy, corporate strategy and business development of the Alliance. Papin reports directly to Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault Nissan Alliance.

In his role working for the Alliance, Papin’s responsibilities include financial analysis, investor relations, strategic partnerships and new ventures across the Alliance, including specific projects for each company.

Papin started his career in 1999 as a European equity analyst (specializing in the automotive sector) for Deutsche Bank, based in Paris. In 2002 he was appointed head of the automotive sector for the European equity team of Lehman Brothers, based in London.

In 2008, he joined Nomura Bank in London as head of the automotive sector, a position he held until September 2009, when he joined the Renault-Nissan Alliance. In his current role, Papin divides his time between the Renault and Nissan offices in France and Japan as well as in Amsterdam, at the offices of Renault Nissan b.v. (RNBV)

Jérémie Papin was born in Paris, France and has dual French and American citizenship. He graduated from Sciences Po in Paris with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and political science and a master’s degree in corporate finance. 

Stefan Mueller

Executive Vice President, Chief Performance Officer (CPO), Renault Group

Biography

He started his career in 1986 in Sales & Marketing Division of BMW AG, in Munich. In 1988, he moved to Sales Region Division North America and was appointed Director of Dealer Development in the United States in 1992. He came back to Germany two years later to take charge of the Fleet Business and Direct Customers. In 1998, he became Executive Director of Direct Sales and Project Manager on new distribution strategy.
 
He joined Ford Motor Company in 1999, as Director Brand and Distribution Development for Premier Automotive Group, in London, prior to become President Germany and President Central Europe Region for Volvo Car Germany, in Cologne.
 
In 2003, he joined Volkswagen AG, first as Executive Director German Market for Audi, and then as President of Volkswagen Retail GmbH. He was appointed Executive Director German Market for Volkswagen AG in 2006. In 2008, he moved to ADAC e.V., as CEO.
On 1 September 2012, Stefan Mueller was appointed Executive Vice President for Renault, Chairman of Europe region.
 
Since 1 March 2016, Stefan Mueller has been Executive Vice President, Chief Performance Officer (CPO) of Groupe Renault. He is a member of the Renault Executive Committee. Stefan Mueller also sits on the Avtovaz Board of Directors.

Bruno Ancelin

Executive Vice President, Product Planning and Programs, Renault Group

Biography

Bruno Ancelin joined Renault in 1982, in the Research Department.  In 1999, he became Supply Chain Director, and in April 2006, Program Director for Mégane, Scénic / Koleos / Fluence / SM3).
 
On September 1, 2008, he was appointed to Renault’s Management Committee. In May 2009, he was appointed Alliance Director of Global Sourcing for Renault Nissan BV, function he  occupied until November 1, 2011. Since October 1, 2010, Bruno Ancelin has been Senior Vice President, Chairman of Eurasia Region and Managing Director of Renault Russia (Avtoframos). In February 2012, Bruno Ancelin was appointed to the AVTOVAZ Board of Directors.
 
As of October 1, 2014, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Product Planning and Programs of the Groupe Renault. He joined the Renault Executive Committee and reports to Thierry Bolloré, Chief Competitive Officer.
Mouna Sepehri

Mouna Sepehri

Executive Vice President, CEO Office, Renault Group

Biography

In addition to Renault EVP of the CEO Office, Sepehri is Secretary of the Renault Board. Her responsibilities include Legal, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, CSR, Cross-Functional Teams, Real Estate & Facilities, Group Prevention Safety & Security and G&A Economic Efficiency Program. Sepehri joined Renault in 1996 as Deputy General Counsel and was part of the original team that formed the Renault-Nissan Alliance in 1999. She attended the Paris School of Law and began her career as an International Corporate Attorney in Paris and New York.

Hiroto Saikawa

Co-Chief Executive Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Biography

Hiroto Saikawa was appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) on November 1, 2016.

In his previous role, Saikawa was Chief Competitive Officer, responsible for maintaining NML’s global competitiveness and leading global purchasing, manufacturing, supply chain management, R&D, and total customer satisfaction.

He joined Nissan immediately following his graduation from Tokyo University in 1977. 

Philippe Klein

Chief Planning Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Biography

Philippe Klein oversees Global Product Planning, Program Management, Market Intelligence, Marketing, Vehicle Information Technology and Sales at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. He is also responsible for Nissan Motor Sports (NISMO) and Nissan’s pioneering electric vehicle program. Mr. Klein joined Nissan from Renault, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, Product Planning, Programs. This is Mr. Klein’s third assignment at Nissan.

Hari Nada

Senior Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd

Biography

Hari Nada is Senior Vice President of the Office of the CEO at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., as well as the Alliance CEO Office. At Nissan, he is also in charge of CFT Coordination, the Legal Department, the Organization Development Department, the Secretariat, V-up Promotion and the Process Innovation Team, the HQ Facility Management Department and Global Internal Audit. Nada joined Nissan in 1990 as Legal Counsel.

Marie-Françoise Damesin

Alliance Executive Vice President, Alliance Human Resources, and Executive Vice President, Renault Group Human Resources.

Biography

Marie-Françoise Damesin is a graduate of ESSEC business school in France and holds a post-graduate degree from Paris-Dauphine University. She began her career in 1979 as an in-house consultant at Compagnie des Wagons Lits & du Tourisme (CIWLT).
 
In March 1984, she joined Renault SAS and held various management positions in the Organization, Marketing and Sales and Human Resources departments before joining Nissan Europe in 2001 as Vice President, Human Resources and General Affairs for the Europe Region. She was a member of Nissan Europe's Management Committee.
 
In November 2005, Marie-Françoise Damesin returned to Renault as Senior Vice President in charge of Communications for Renault. In November, 2010, she was appointed Group Human Resources, Senior Vice President. She has been a member of the Renault management committee since 2005.
 
In April 2011, Marie-Françoise Damesin joined the Renault Group Executive Committee as Executive Vice President of Human Resources.
 
On April 1, 2014, Marie-Françoise Damesin was appointed Alliance Executive Vice President for Human Resources. In this role, she is responsible for the implementation of common HR processes throughout the Alliance, including the creation of a unified “talent management” policy across the global operations of Renault and Nissan.

Jérôme Olive

Alliance Executive Vice President, Alliance Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain Management, Renault-Nissan Alliance

Biography

Jérôme Olive was appointed Alliance Executive Vice President, Alliance Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain Management, for the Renault-Nissan Alliance in August 2015. Previously, he was Senior Vice President at Renault for Manufacturing and Logistics in Europe.
 
In his new position, Olive is in charge of further accelerating integration within the Alliance Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain Management function. The function is one of four key converged Renault and Nissan units. The others are Purchasing, Engineering and Human Resources, which were also set up on April 1, 2014.
 
Olive joined Renault in 1982. He held various manufacturing-related positions at the Sandouville, Fonderie de Bretagne and Douai plants in France before he was promoted to General Manager of the Douai plant in 2004. In 2010, he joined Renault’s subsidiary Dacia – maker of the popular Logan model – as Managing Director of the Renault Group in Romania and Managing Director of Dacia. In 2013, he was appointed Industrial Director for Renault’s Euromed-Africa Region, in addition to his role as Managing Director of Dacia. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Logistics Europe in January 2014, responsible for 16 production sites.
Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi

Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi

Alliance Executive Vice President, Alliance Technology Development

Biography

Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in April 1984 after graduating from Kyoto University with a master’s degree in Engineering. He has been with the company all his working life, spending time in Japan and North America contributing to the development of both the Nissan and Infiniti brands.
 
He spent the first part of his career in Japan, working in various areas of vehicle engineering before being transferred to the Nissan Technical Center North America in 2000. He became a Senior Manager in 2003 and President of Nissan Technical Center  North America  in Farmington Hills, Michigan, in 2004.
 
In 2008, Yamaguchi was appointed Corporate Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in charge of a number of vital engineering divisions including R&D Engineering Management, Vehicle Test Technology Development and Passenger Vehicle Product Development. In April 2011, he was appointed Corporate Vice President in charge of Infiniti Product Development.
 
In April 2012, he moved to the Renault-Nissan Alliance where he is responsible for Common Platform and Parts.
 
On April 1, 2014, Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi was appointed Alliance Executive Vice President for Alliance Technology Development. In this role, he is responsible for the Alliance’s Common Module Family engineering, advanced research, powertrain development (including electric vehicles), systems engineering and testing facilities and services.

Yasuhiro Yamauchi

Biography

Yasuhiro Yamauchi was appointed Chief Competitive Officer (CCO) of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) on November 1, 2016.
 

Previously, Yamauchi was the Alliance Executive Vice President, purchasing and Chairman and Managing Director of Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organization.

Yamauchi graduated from International Christian University, in Tokyo, Japan in 1981 where he majored in social science.

Catherine Loubier

Biography

Catherine Loubier is responsible for Alliance communications globally, which aims to increase internal and external visibility and understanding of the Renault Nissan Alliance. 
 
Born in Montreal, Canada, Catherine Loubier started her career in 1996 in the private sector where she held different positions advising entrepreneurs and decision-makers in the financial, entertainment and energy sectors on communications and issues management.

She joined the Canadian government in 2006 as Media Advance to the Prime Minister.
She later acted as Director of Communications for the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities of Canada (2006-2010), for the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2008-2010), and Press Secretary and Spokeswoman to the Prime Minister of Canada (2015).

As Senior Advisor for Quebec to the Prime Minister of Canada from 2013 to 2015, she dealt with highly strategic decisions and negotiated key agreements for relations between Quebec and the federal government. She more recently was Vice president, Strategic Counsel and Public Affairs in a leading Canadian public relations firm.

She holds a BA and a Master in Political Science. 

 

José Muñoz

Chief Performance Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Biography

José Muñoz was appointed Chief Performance Officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) on November 1, 2016.

José Muñoz joined Nissan Europe S.A.S in 2004 as general manager, Dealer Development, for Nissan Europe. He then served as managing director of Nissan Iberia, S.A.

In 2009, José Muñoz was named president, Nissan Mexicana (NMEX). Under his leadership, NMEX achieved the highest market share in Nissan's history and saw a 42-month run of sales leadership in Mexico. José Muñoz was also responsible for developing key dealer network initiatives that led to significant improvements across NMEX's sales network.

In April 2012, José Muñoz became responsible for the operating performance of the company's operations in Mexico, Latin America and Brazil, representing each on Nissan's Management Committee for the Americas. He also was responsible for the company's Dealer Network Development organization across the Americas. Prior to joining Nissan, he worked in various management positions with other automotive companies in Europe.

José Muñoz holds a Doctorate in nuclear engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid. He has also completed other executive management programs from Cranfield School of Management in the U.K. and INSEAD Business School in France.
