Electric vehicle aficionados are in for a treat at this year's Geneva Motor Show. At the show, which is open to the public March 7-17, you will find the Renault New Kangoo Z.E. and the new Nissan LEAF for the European market.
The New Kangoo Z.E. is the latest version of Europe's best-selling small electric van.
New features include the Renault R-Link system, which provides a host of multimedia functions including navigation, radio, Bluetooth® telephony and connectivity with portable devices in a single system.The system also helps reduce energy consumption through tools such as My Z.E. inter@ctive, a smartphone app that programs battery recharging at off-peak electricity rates, or Driving eco, which analyses driving styles and offers personalised tips for more economical motoring.
Another new feature: the Z.E. Voice function which emits a warning sound to pedestrians at speeds of less than 30kph.
The new Nissan LEAF, which will be produced at Nissan’s Sunderland plant in the UK, ,features more than 100 updates, including an increase in driving range to 199 km (NEDC) and a 50% reduction in charging time.
The usability and security of the charging port have also been upgraded, with the port area now located at the front and an LED inspection light included to assist charging at night. As a result of this reorganisation, the luggage area has been increased by 40 litres.
