The Renault Twizy is the star of a new concept for tourists in Paris. Twiztour invites visitors to get behind the wheel of a Twizy and see the sights of the French capital following a special tourist-friendly GPS route. Alternatively, they can opt for a personalised tour by following a guide who is also driving a Twizy!
The all-electric Twizy is ideal for zipping around the narrow cobbled streets of Paris and has the added benefit of being easy to park in the smallest of spaces – something that is not negligible in Paris's busy streets.
Customers of Twiztour can choose from a number of different routes, ranging from an hour's drive to a full morning or afternoon of sightseeing. Following a specially-designed GPS, they simply drive themselves around Paris and take in the sights. But this GPS doesn't just tell you where to turn; it also gives photo tips, details of the sights, and advice about where to park!
As well as taking in the classic sights of Paris, such as Notre-Dame, the Louvre, the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower, some tours explore lesser-known treasures like the vineyards of Montmartre or the Arènes de Lutèce, an old Roman amphitheatre. Those looking for a more personal tour can ask Twiztour to devise a customised route. A guide will then lead the way in his own Twizy, informing customers about the sights via walkie-talkie.
