Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO and Chairman Carlos Ghosn will be a keynote speaker at Women’s Forum Brazil, a networking summit in Sao Paulo focused on gender equity.
Ghosn will discuss the unique opportunities for women as the auto industry tries to meet surging demand in emerging markets and hire thousands of new employees. Ghosn, who was born in Brazil and spent part of his childhood in Rio de Janeiro, will also discuss the progress of Renault and Nissan in hiring and promoting women in the Americas.
“Renault and Nissan are whole-heartedly committed to gender equity,” Ghosn said. “We are seeing more and more women move through the professional pipeline into leadership roles. But our industry needs to accelerate the pace of change if we are to compete in the global competition for talent.”
Renault-Nissan is sending a 60-person delegation, including female employees based in a wide variety of key management positions, to the Women’s Forum Brazil, June 17-18. The second annual Women’s Forum Brazil includes networking sessions and debates with public- and private-sector leaders from throughout the region.
