Don't go underground in London...Go electric
Londoners and visitors to the UK capital are being offered the chance to hire a Nissan LEAF for less than £10 a day… that’s cheaper than the cost of an all-day pass for the city’s tube and bus network.

The scheme is being run by car rental giant Hertz, which has introduced the world’s best selling pure electric vehicle to branches at key areas including Heathrow and City airports, Marble Arch, Russell Square and the Old Kent Road.

With a potential range of 124 miles, more than 1,600 charge points across the city, ample room for five people, exemption from fees when driving into London’s central congestion zone and the added bonus of free parking in designated areas, Hertz believes customers will find the Nissan LEAF is the perfect way to cross the capital.

The launch offer of £9.99 (about €13.60) is for a full 24 hour hire with unlimited mileage. Neil Cunningham, General Manager Hertz UK, said: “The Nissan LEAF is perfect for driving around London and the greater area. With this initiative we aim to make environmentally-friendly driving available at a very attractive price… one that’s less than the price of a London Underground travel card.”

“We are very confident that drivers who have never driven an EV before will now give this great experience a try, secure in the knowledge of the Nissan LEAF’s excellent driving range and access to a large, citywide charging network.”

Even better, the car’s on board Intelligent Navigation System can direct drivers to the nearest charge point, so there’s no chance of getting lost en route.
