French Atomic Agency becomes first business to adopt Twizy Way

Employees at the French Atomic Agency's facility in Grenoble now have a simple, eco-friendly way to get around the site – thanks to Twizy Way by Renault. The innovative car-sharing service allows staff to move around their workplace in one of the agency's 20 Twizys and to drop the vehicle off anywhere on the site.

Twizy Way by Renault was first launched last July in the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines urban community, as a service for the general public. Now, the French Atomic Agency (CEA) is the first business to implement the scheme, providing employees with a clean, flexible and simple solution for on-site transport.

Since December 2012, 150 employees have signed up to this turnkey service. Participants simply use their company badge to start the Twizy and there is no need to book in advance. The car fleet is managed using a smartphone application to geolocate Twizy vehicles and to track their charging levels and use.

This initiative is part of the CEA's long-term mobility plan. By promoting alternative forms of transport and car sharing, the agency has managed to reduce the percentage of single-occupant drivers among its workforce to just 36.4%. The CEA, which is a key player in low-carbon energy research and development, believes strongly in assuming its environmental responsibilities and setting an example for staff – and Twizy Way is yet another example of this commitment.
