French luxury hotel opens Twizy rental service for guests

For guests at the Château de la Pioline in the south of France, there really is no easier way to zip around town than in a Renault Twizy.

This luxury four-star hotel in Aix-en-Provence has just opened a new service that allows guests to rent a Twizy simply by picking up a RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) card at reception. The card is used to start the vehicle and also registers the distance covered, automatically adding the cost to the client's hotel bill. The system is as easy to use as the Twizy itself!
The innovative service is provided by Wattmobile, a vehicle rental company specialising in sustainable mobility, and has been designed with simplicity at its heart. The fleet of electric vehicles can be managed remotely by hoteliers, while guests no longer need to worry about refilling the tank or losing their keys. "Both the hotel owner and the client have complete peace of mind", explains David Lainé, Managing Director of Wattmobile.

The Château de la Pioline is the first hotel to offer this ecologically-responsible solution, but with low impact tourism increasingly in demand, we can expect to see the Twizy populating the driveways of more and more luxury hotels in the future.
