Low energy tyres are a key to ZOE's optimised range
ZOE, Renault’s latest pure electric vehicle, has an advanced drivetrain and a powerful battery pack. It has a highly efficient regenerative braking system and clever heat pump which minimises energy losses. All help to give ZOE an outstanding real world range of between 100-150kms and a homologated range of 210kms.
But one of the biggest reasons it can travel further on a full charge is down to its tyres. Tyres account for as much as 30 per cent of the energy consumed by an electric powertrain so the key is a tyre which reduces energy consumption.
Jointly developed by Michelin and Renault specifically for ZOE, the Energy E-V tyres are possibly the most energy efficient tyres in the world, combining a low rolling resistance for a longer range at the same time as maintaining high levels of safety, especially when it comes to wet weather grip. The Energy E-V tyre is the result of a four-year development programme and is based on more than two decades of research into energy saving techniques.
New construction techniques, special compounds and a unique tread pattern mean grip in the wet or dry is exemplary, increasing road-holding and performance under braking and acceleration at the same time as reducing road noise.
To find out more, join Renault’s Customer Specifications EV Director Bernard Dumondel as he asks to Vincent Rousset-Rouvière from Michelin to reveal the secrets of this remarkable tyre.

I've heard other people say the same thing about the mpg. I was thinking about buying a 2011 Altima 2.5S as a repo from my credit union, but guess I'll stay with my 2001 Honda Civic HX, 150K miles, I average 35 mpg.
Wow I must confess you make some very trenchant points.
I'm not easily impressed but you've done it with that posting.
