Production begins at Nissan's fifth plant in China

Nissan’s joint venture in China with Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, today began production at its latest plant located in Dalian City. The Dalian plant in northeast China is Nissan’s fifth plant in the country. Nissan’s other production bases are in Huadu in Guangzhou, Xiangyang and Zhengzhou.

The plant, which is being positioned as a production hub for Nissan SUVs, began production with the X-Trail model. The manufacturing technology, quality and eco standard of the construction of the Dalian plant are aligned with the global standards of Nissan, while the factory management comes from existing Chinese plants.

The plant will begin with an initial production capacity of 150,000 units per year. Upon full ramp up, capacity is expected to reach 300,000 units per year.
