Carlos Ghosn, Chairman of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, has received the 2011 FISITA medal

The medal was presented to Carlos Ghosn this morning at Universidad Politecnica in Valencia, Spain at the end of the plenary session of the FISITA congress.

Carlos Ghosn thanked FISITA, the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Companies, for having awarded him the medal. FISITA wanted to distinguish the Chairman of the Renault-Nissan Alliance for his achievements in building a cross-cultural partnership and for his work in favour of sustainable mobility for all through a complete range of 100% electric vehicles.

Commenting, Carlos Ghosn, said: “One of the greatest honors one can aspire to is to be singled out as a leader in innovation and sustainability. The Renault-Nissan Alliance shares these two values and promotes them with its 350,000 employees worldwide, which is why I also accept this honor on their behalf.”

International Federation of Automotive Engineering Companies (FISITA)

FISITA is a non-governmental organization founded in Paris in 1948 that brings engineers together from all over the world in a spirit of cooperation to discuss ideas and innovations in automotive technology. The main task of FISITA, which counts 163,000 members, is to contribute to the creation of safe, affordable and sustainable automotive transport through a forum for dialogue between engineers, industry representatives, government, academia and environmental organizations.
