Biography

Rachel Konrad is a Director of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. She is responsible for communication about the Alliance, the auto industry's longest lasting and most productive cross-cultural collaboration.

Konrad's responsibilities include CEO communications, corporate communications, internal and external communications, media relations and strategic communication across all partners of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, including Dong Feng, Daimler and AVTOVAZ. She reports directly to Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault Nissan Alliance.

Konrad spent nearly 15 years as a business journalist specializing in the automotive and technology sectors. She has worked for numerous newspapers including the Detroit Free Press, where she covered numerous high-profile auto industry mergers and acquisitions. She has also worked for online publications and for the Associated Press, the biggest American news agency. A US citizen, Konrad spent most of her journalism career in Detroit and California's Silicon Valley.

In 2008, she joined the electric car startup Tesla Motors as the company's sole communications person, reporting to the CEO. In 2010, she moved to England to help the company expand throughout Europe and the Middle East. She joined the Renault-Nissan Alliance in February 2011.

Konrad lives primarily in Paris but travels extensively in Asia, Europe and the Americas. She graduated from Northwestern University near Chicago and did a journalism fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC.
