Cooperation between Nissan and Daimler's Fuso expands to vans
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., will supply Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), a Daimler AG subsidiary, finished commercial vans for export.

Nissan will supply the NV350 Urvan to Mitsubishi Fuso, which is based in Kawasaki, Japan, for export to select markets. A formal contract will be concluded in the future that will determine the specifics of the deal, including volumes and delivery timing.

The agreement marks the latest development in the three-and-a-half year strategic partnership between Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler.

MFTBC President & CEO Dr. Albert Kirchmann said: “The agreement today is a next successful step after our mutual supply of light-duty trucks already running in Japan and represents a second real synergy taking place under the strategic partnership by Daimler AG and Renault-Nissan Alliance. We will be starting the sale of commercial vans for the first time in our history, and for Fuso, this will not only mean an expansion of our already robust global product portfolio, but is also a sign of our commitment to continually enhance our business solutions for our customers.”

Toshiyuki Shiga, Nissan Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are delighted that we will be able to supply NV350 in addition to the reciprocal OEM supply of Atlas F24 and Canter that is going on track. We hope this will lead to improved production efficiency in Japan.”

The Nissan and Mitsubishi Fuso began supplying each other with light-duty trucks for the Japanese market in January this year. Mitsubishi Fuso supplies Canter (payload: 2.0 tons) to Nissan and Nissan supplies Atlas F24 (payload: 1.5 tons) to Mitsubishi Fuso.
