Staff at a small ski station in the French Jura have been testing the Renault Twizy this summer – with a view to offering it to visitors in the winter. 

 

Following a partnership with electric mobility company Keymoov, the ski station of Montagne des Rousses in the Jura mountains has been testing three Renault Twizys since the beginning of August. Staff are using the Twizy for short journeys to get around the site. With its autonomy of 80km (50 miles) and a full battery recharge requiring just three hours, the Twizy is well adapted for such everyday use.

 

For the Montagne des Rousses station, the trial of the Twizy is part of a wider environmental policy. The station has been awarded ISO 14001 certification, and is actively pursuing a green, zero-emission approach. If the results of the Twizy trial are convincing, the station hopes to offer electric vehicles to winter guests as a way of getting around the resort. The idea is to adapt the vehicle to the needs of skiers, equipping it with a ski rack and winter tyres.
