New Nissan TITAN XD unveiled in Detroit

Visitors to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit were offered an exclusive preview of the Nissan TITAN XD – and discovered a brand new class of pickup that combines raw towing power with smooth driving comfort. Designed with teams in the United States for the U.S. market, the new TITAN delivers the effortless hauling capabilities of larger trucks alongside the fuel efficiency and affordability of half-ton pickups.

Thanks to Nissan's partnership with Cummins, the vehicle features the all-new Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, its available maximum towing capacity is estimated to be more than 12,000 pounds (5,443 kg). Owners will benefit from a range of utility features and aids, such as Nissan's RearView Monitor with Trailer Guides and a Trailer Light Check system designed to enable a one-person hook-up.

With the 2016 TITAN XD, which will be assembled in Mississippi and launched late in 2015, Nissan affirms its commitment to the U.S. market and to localised production. Nissan has invested over $5 billion in the U.S. in the last five years and is targeting 10 percent market share in the near future.

Another car making headlines in Detroit was Nissan's two-door Q60 Infiniti Concept. Estimated to be "90 percent" close to the final production model, this new sports coupe concept features a streamlined look designed for powerful performance. It reflects Nissan's goal to strengthen the Infiniti range in the mid-size segment, with a third-generation coupe due for 2016.
