Renault-Nissan Alliance, the leader in zero-emission mobility, will hold several conferences on sustainable mobility with experts in the field during the United Nation’s COP21 climate conference in Paris. The conferences will take place at the Grand Palais and Paris Le Bourget exhibition centers from Dec. 4-10.

The Alliance will also participate in Solutions COP21, an international exhibition on climate-change solutions at the Grand Palais, which will feature projects to reduce CO2 from cities, businesses and other organizations around the world.

As the official passenger-car provider for the United Nation’s COP21, the Renault-Nissan Alliance will provide 200 pure electric vehicles to the annual summit which runs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11, representing the world’s largest electric-vehicle fleet ever to an international conference.

For a full list of the Renault-Nissan Alliance conferences, see below. Please note all presentations will be in French, except for the “Smart solutions and interoperable infrastructures for clean e-mobility” conference on Saturday Dec. 5, which will be in English.

Conferences:

Le Grand Palais

·         Electric mobility, air quality modelling in Rome and Hong Kong, and future innovation perspectives

Building an electric park in an urban setting generates immediate improvements in air quality. This conference will showcase the results of 3D air quality modellings conducted in Rome and in Hong Kong by Aria Technology, a French company specialized in environmental research, in partnership with the Renault-Nissan Alliance and local municipalities. Such results will allow municipalities city dwellers to anticipate pollution peaks and find concrete ways to reduce pollution levels.

·         The EV market in France

This session will provide an overview of the evolution of the EV market in France since 2011, including the autonomy of EVs and the availability of charging stations.

·         Smart solutions and interoperable infrastructures for clean e-mobility

A session focused on electric vehicles and their role in alleviating climate change. There will also be a screening of a film by the European Commissionabout the EU-funded CORRIDOR project which will see the deployment of 200 quick charging points on the main French highways by December 2015.

A session focused on the environmental stakesinvolved as a result of climate change, followed by a discussion on how electric modes of mobility and smart cities will help counter its effects.

·         How does an electric vehicle work?

This conference will focus on the inner workings and functionalities of the electric vehicle (battery, autonomy, charge time, etc.). The conference will also examine the leading electric vehicle markets in the world, including France, as well as the role of public incentives and regulations in those markets.

·         The de-carbonization of transport and the energy mix

This conference will look at the power industry’s efforts to de-carbonize and how this trend will impact energy-intensive sectors, including transport.

·         Is electric mobility a solution that adequately addresses the environmental and energy challenges? 

The comparative life-cycle assessment of electric vehicles versus conventional cars gives us a good indicator as to the role they will play in countering climate change, one of the biggest challenges of our century. In this panel discussion, experts will give an overview of electric vehicles and their benefits with regards to public health, as well as the integration of the battery in the circular economy. The panel discussion will be led by Eric Champarnaud, Vice President of BIPE (Bureau of information and economic predictions)

Brazil is the world leader in bioethanol production and use in flex fuel vehicles. India individual mobility needs increase, mainly fueled with conventional gasoline and Diesel. Although energy, environment and industry stakes are completely different, this conference will emphasize unexpected but unique opportunities to support Electric Vehicles deployment.

·         European recharging infrastructure projects on highways    

European Union is supporting implementation of Quick chargers along the European highways. First corridors will be operational by end of this year (France, Uk, Austria …). A global EU coverage is foreseen by end 2018. First lessons learned will be discussed during the session;

·         A Road Trip in France meeting the Electric people

This summer Sandra and Mathilde took the Zoe to travel around and ring at people from the electric community's bells. They drove all around France thanks to these ''connected'' persons that allowed them to reload their batteries. This experience is an original way to show what the electric vehicle can bring and how Zoe can create social moments. Sandra will come to tell you about her extraordinary experience in order to describe the portrait of the electric pioneers that share the same will as her to slow down the rhythm of life, drive in a more ecological way and be an actor in the climate change.
