World's best-selling electric vehicle Nissan LEAF celebrates 5th anniversary
Nissan LEAF, the world’s best-selling electric vehicle, celebrates its fifth anniversary this month.

The 100% electric vehicle has sold almost 200,000 units around the world. The U.S. is LEAF’s biggest market with 90,000 vehicles sold, followed by Japan with 50,000 units and Europe with 40,000 units. Together Nissan and Alliance partner Renault have a full range of six electric vehicle models that do not consume a drop of petroleum when driving. Together, they have sold more than 280,000 electric vehicles since the launch of LEAF. The Alliance is the global leader in zero-emission vehicles, accounting for one in two EVs on the road today.
