Twizy car-sharing service wins over locals

Twizy car-sharing service wins over locals

There is now a way to enjoy the freedom of zero-emission driving without owning an electric vehicle. You can begin and end your journey anywhere in town – and you don't even have to pay for parking.

All this is possible thanks to Twizy Way by Renault, an innovative car-sharing scheme recently inaugurated in the French agglomeration of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. The model is proving so successful that there are already plans to extend it to other areas.

Users can sign up for the scheme online or at a new boutique in the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines train station. Via the internet or a mobile web app, they can then locate and reserve one of the service's 50 Twizy vehicles. Throughout their reservation, parking is free in town, and to return the vehicle, they simply leave it anywhere in the agglomeration, ready for the next user.

Twizy, an innovative all-electric quadricyle, is the ideal urban vehicle for such a pioneering car-sharing scheme. After just two months, local inhabitants have already been won over, with 92% of those surveyed saying they enjoyed using Twizy Way by Renault.

The main benefits cited by users were the ease of parking, the ability to use the Twizy in conjunction with another means of transport, and the pleasure of behaving eco-responsibly. Above all, subscribers appreciate the freedom offered by Twizy Way by Renault.

This positive feedback attests to the relevance of the service, which accounts for our changing relationship with the automobile, particularly in urban areas. It also demonstrates that sustainable mobility is not just about zero-emission driving; it is a way of life that liberates users from many of the constraints of traditional cars.

Given the success in St- Quentin-en-Yvelines, Thierry Viadieu, Head of Renault's Mobility Services and Cross-Functional Equipment Program, recently announced that “Renault is looking to launch Twizy Way by Renault in other towns and address other targets, including employees at companies”.

Thank you for your interest in our electric vehicles. Renault has no plans to introduce Twizy to India at this time. We will keep you posted if this changes.
