It's a red-letter day for emission-free postal deliveries in Luxembourg

Post and telecommunications business P&TLuxembourg has doubled its fleet of electric delivery vehicles with the purchase of 30 Renault Kangoo E.V. models.

Now with more than 60 EVs delivering letters and parcels across the Duchy, P&T has the largest zero emission fleet in the country. The move underlines P&T’s commitment to reducing its CO2 footprint as part of the company’s approach to sustainable development.

Claude Strasser, managing director of P&TLuxembourg, said: “With this initiative, P&T is also contributing to the new CO2-reduction objective of the International Post Corporation (IPC), whose members (including P&T) have agreed to reduce the total CO2 emissions generated by postal operators worldwide by one third by 2020, in comparison to 2010.”

Frédéric Maillard, director of Renault Luxembourg, said: “With this commitment, P&T is clearly setting an example for companies in Luxembourg and proving that electric mobility has gone beyond the ‘test phase’ and is more than something with ‘is nice to have’. “With the recent launch of Renault Zoe, we intend to strengthen our leadership in the field of electric mobility at both corporate and private individual level.”
