New R-Link apps help drivers connect and learn

Even when they're behind the wheel, drivers can keep up with their social network or learn a language, thanks to two new apps in the Renault R-Link store. By downloading the apps, drivers will optimize their journey time and offer their vehicle a whole new level of connectivity.

The two new apps have been designed for R-Link, Renault's in-car multimedia system that delivers information and entertainment via a 7-inch (18 cm) touchscreen display. Featuring a 2.75G internet connection, the R-Link keeps drivers fully connected while ensuring their safety.

With R-Link for Facebook, drivers can access all the usual functions of their social network while their vehicle is stationary. Once they're moving, a special text-to-speech interface allows them to hear friends' updates and post pre-written messages. The app can even guide them via GPS to a nearby friend or destination already recorded in Facebook.

Supermemo turns drivers into linguists. The app is equipped with a voice recognition function and asks users to repeat key phrases in one of four languages (French, English, Italian or Spanish). It comes pre-loaded with 30 conversation categories and over 800 useful phrases in each language – allowing drivers to improve their language skills as they clock up the miles.
