Some 65% of global car purchases are decided by women, while in Japan Nissan is increasingly courting female consumers through new-look dealerships and staffing.

In the Tokyo suburb of Fuchu, a pilot dealership managed by women underwent a design transformation this month to make the shopping experience more welcoming and easier.

Progress report confirms Nissan's strong commitment to recycling

A new progress report reveals that Nissan's recycling and recovery efforts in Japan are significantly ahead of local target values – and the company is set to strengthen its commitment over the next few years. The report for fiscal year 2013 was published in line with the Japan Automobile Recycling Law, and includes some striking figures.

Portland, Oregon, already a top breeding ground for electric vehicle (EV) sales in the US, is now the proving ground for Nissan’s prototype electric commercial vehicle – the Nissan e-NV200.

Nissan is working in collaboration with Portland General Electric (PGE) on a six-week trial to help determine the viability of an electric commercial vehicle in the U.S market. PGE has assigned the e-NV200 into its fleet of vehicles with an underground crew, replacing a larger, diesel-powered van.
