EVs get smarter thanks to interoperability

EVs get smarter thanks to interoperability
As global sales of electric vehicles continue to rise, efforts are being made to ensure that the charging infrastructure is future proof and that EVs – no matter where they are built or driven – have compatible charging systems.

The first of two centres to develop and promote commonality in electric mobility on both sides of the Atlantic has opened for business in Chicago in America. It will soon be joined by a European centre, split between sites in the Netherlands and Italy.

Germany targets 1 million EVs by 2020

Germany targets 1 million EVs by 2020

Germany is backing a huge growth in sales of electric vehicles. Chancellor Angela Merkel told an international forum in Berlin that she wants to see at least one million EVs on Germany’s highways and byways by the end of the decade.

With that number of zero-emission vehicles on its roads, Germany’s credentials as a leader in sustainable mobility would be assured. And although the target is ambitious there are promising signs that it can be achieved.

"Brilliant" - the verdict on Alliance EVs from TEDGlobal

“It was brilliant,” said Caroline Seow after her test drive in a Renault Zoe around Edinburgh. So brilliant, in fact, that she decided there and then she wants to buy one when she gets home to Singapore from TEDGlobal 2013.

Caroline, Executive Director of the Family Business Network Asia, sought out Zoe Project Director Simon Luque to find out when the car would be available in Singapore. He told her it would be soon… and he promised she would be one of the first customers.
