Nissan to accelerate EV utilization program at roadside stations in Japan
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. plans to donate 47 Nissan LEAF all-electric zero-emission EVs and “LEAF-to-Home” power supply systems to roadside rest area stations in all of Japan’s 47 prefectures. The plan will begin in September 2013. One Nissan LEAF*, paired with a LEAF-to-Home power system, will be donated by Nissan to at least one roadside rest area (called michi-no-eki in Japanese) to each prefecture in the country.

Welcome break for EV drivers as quick charge network spreads to UK motorways
Drivers of electric vehicles in the UK will soon be able to drive greater distances on motorways, confident that they will never be too far from a quick charger.
 
It’s all thanks to an innovative partnership between Nissan and Ecotricity, which has installed 13 more quick chargers to Welcome Break motorway service stations, bringing the number of rapid chargers at Welcome Break sites to 16.

Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi agree to joint development of charging infrastructure for PHVs, PHEVs and EVs in Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly announced their agreement to work together to promote the installation of chargers for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs, EVs) and build a charging network service that offers more convenience to drivers in Japan.

Datsun today revealed sketches giving a preview of the first new generation Datsun car, which will be unveiled at a world premiere event in New Delhi, India on July 15th, 2013.

The car will be the first product aimed for the Indian market – and the first of the future Datsun model line-up to be launched from 2014. The premiere event will not only unveil the new model, but also introduce the Datsun brand whose return to the market was announced in March 2012.

Electrifying Le Mans: Nissan counts down to Garage 56 reveal

In February, CEO Carlos Ghosn announced Nissan would return to Le Mans - the world’s oldest sports car endurance race - in 2014 with an entry in Garage 56, a slot reserved for experimental vehicles pioneering new technology.

On Friday June 21 at 10:30 am, Nissan will reveal its 2014 Garage 56 entry - an all-new race car incorporating electric technology.
