Renault makes donation of an exclusive all-electric vehicle to Pope Benedict XVI - 06/09/2012
- French carmaker Renault has presented His Holiness Benedict XVI with an electric vehicle designed and built especially to meet the Pope’s mobility needs.
- The vehicle is based on Kangoo Maxi Z.E. and was developed in association with the French coachbuilder Gruau. Renault also donated a second electric vehicle to the Corps of Gendarmerie of Vatican City.
- These vehicles were presented to the Pope yesterday by the Renault Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn at the Holy Father’s summer residence in Castel Gandolfo.

Renault launches a social business program to make mobility accessible to all - 16/07/2012
- Renault MOBILIZ, the first social business initiative in mobility from a French carmaker, was officially unveiled on July 11, 2012 by Chairman Carlos Ghosn. The program aims to restore the autonomy of people with low incomes.
- More than eight million people living under the poverty line in France are barred from fully entering society and the professional world through their inability to get around or acquire and maintain a vehicle.
- Renault MOBILIZ is based on three main components: real-life mobility service solutions; the creation of an investment company to finance mobility projects; and a partnership with the “Enterprise and Poverty” Chair at HEC Paris.
- The program is rooted in the DNA and history of Renault, which aims to make mobility accessible to all.

1,618 KM in 24 hours: a new world record for ZOE - 06/07/2012
ZOE has set a new world record for the longest distance travelled in 24 hours by a production electric car. ZOE completed 363 laps of the Aubevoye speed ring in Normandy, a distance of 1,618 km. It thereby betters the former record of 1,280 km by 25%.
