Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler AG announce wide-ranging strategic cooperation - 07/04/2010
• Cooperation on the next-generation smart fortwo and Renault Twingo, including electric versions, as well as on expanding the smart and Twingo families
• Widespread powertrain sharing and co-development on future projects with applications across passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, specifically:
- The sharing and co-development of diesel and gasoline engines from the Renault-Nissan Alliance; to be used in the new smart and Renault Twingo and to be adapted and modified with Mercedes-Benz characteristics for its new generation of premium compact cars
- The sharing of gasoline and diesel engines coming from Daimler to Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan Motor Company, and providing the opportunity for further collaboration
- The sharing of a Renault-Nissan Alliance diesel engine and transmission for the Mercedes-Benz Vito
• Collaboration in the field of light commercial vehicles
• One-time cross-shareholding amounting to 3.1% of each partner's equity capital
• Additional synergies encompassing selective common purchasing opportunities, exchange of operational benchmarks and best practices to be shared across both groups -
The Renault-Nissan alliance inaugurates plant in Chennai, India - 17/03/2010
First dedicated Alliance global plant; production capacity of up to 400,000 units Chennai, India - Renault-Nissan Alliance Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn today joined more than 1,000 guests in Chennai, India, for the inauguration of the first dedicated Renault-Nissan Alliance vehicle manufacturing plant.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the representatives of state government led by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Renault Nissan Alliance reports sales of 6,085,058 units in 2009 - 02/02/2010
In a global market that contracted 4.5%, the Renault Nissan Alliance, including for the first time the sales of the AvtoVaz Lada brand, captured 9.8%* of the global market in 2009. In 2008, the Alliance without Lada had a share of 9.4%.
Renault and Nissan sold 2,309,188 and 3,358,413 vehicles respectively. Sales of Lada accounted for 417,457 units. Renault's worldwide sales decreased by 3.1% and Nissan's by 9.4%.

Renault-Nissan Alliance announces battery plant site for Portugal - 08/12/2009
LISBON, Portugal - the Renault-Nissan Alliance today announced the location for the planned battery production site in Portugal. The announcement was made today in Lisbon by Prime Minister Jose Socrates and Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
The new plant, which will manufacture advanced lithium-ion batteries, will be located at the Renault CACIA (Companhia Aveirense de Componentes para a Indústria Automóvel) industrial complex located in Aveiro, about 250km north of the capital, Lisbon.

Renault Nissan Alliance reports sales of 6,090,304 vehicles in 2008 - 04/02/2009
In a global market that fell 5%, Renault and Nissan reported a 1.1% drop in sales for 2008. With a total of 6,090,304 vehicles sold in 2008, the Renault Nissan Alliance captured a 9.4%* share of the global new vehicle market, up 0.3% points from 2007.
Renault and Nissan sold 2,382,230 and 3,708,074 vehicles respectively. Renault's worldwide sales decreased by 4.1%, while Nissan's rose by 0.9%.

Renault Nissan Alliance reports record sales of 6,160,046 vehicles in 2007 - 30/01/2008
Renault and Nissan sold a total of 6,160,046 vehicles in 2007 (+4.2 %) giving a global market share of 9.1% and a new annual sales record for the Alliance.
Renault and Nissan sold respectively 2,484,472 and 3,675,574 units, Renault’s worldwide sales increased by 2.1 %, while Nissan’s rose by 5.7 %.
