Nissan has been named one of the world’s greenest brands for 2013 in Interbrand’s third annual Best Global Green Brands report. Noted for its leadership in zero emissions mobility with the Nissan LEAF 100% electric vehicle, Nissan was ranked fifth place overall out of 50 brands that were selected.

 Renault's CO2 reduction initiatives in Morocco gain official approval

The United Nations has recognised Renault’s significant efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at its plant in Tangier, Morocco.

By switching from natural gas to biomass for its boilers and implementing a highly effective heat recovery process in its paint shop, the advanced Renault plant has cut CO2 emissions by almost 10,500 metric tonnes a year.

DJ records another number one with Nissan LEAF

British broadcaster and businessman Mark Goodier has today replayed his number one motoring moment by becoming the first person in Europe to take delivery of the all-new and UK-built 100% electric Nissan LEAF.
 
The former host of British music TV show Top of the Pops, best known for his time presenting on BBC Radio One, was the first UK customer to collect the original Nissan LEAF - the world's bestselling electric car - when the ground-breaking model was launched in Britain in May 2011.

Today, Sylvie Lailler became the 10,000th Nissan LEAF customer in Europe, further cementing the ground-breaking zero emission car's status as the best-selling electric vehicle of all time.
 
Mrs. Lailler is a nurse who will be driving the Nissan LEAF on visits to elderly patients and using it with her family at the weekends. She picked up her Nissan LEAF from the Mantes-la-Jolie dealership near Paris, near where she lives.

Renault signs new innovation partnership with French Scientific Research Centre
Paving the way for new innovations in sustainable mobility, Renault has renewed its research partnership with France’s CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research). The four-year agreement, signed on the 15th of May, will see the two partners exploring a variety of themes around sustainability, including virtual reality, ergonomics, neuroscience, new materials and catalysis.
