Turning the “sunlight” on ZOE, Twizy and Kangoo Z.E. in Reunion
Renault’s electric vehicles are currently available in 18 countries and continue to be launched in markets around the world. The rollout process will now be accompanied by a monthly saga article. The first focuses on the island of Reunion, where ZOE, Twizy and Kangoo Z.E. recently arrived in Renault dealerships.

Local conditions in the new market led to the development of solar panel-powered charging stations, an innovative solution that means Renault electric vehicles here can run and charge in zero-emission mode.

Restoring peace to Versailles

Restoring peace to Versailles
The tranquillity and beauty of the gardens of France’s Château de Versailles, just outside Paris, have always been disturbed by traffic noise.

Four hundred years ago it was the clip-clop of horses’ hooves and the rumble of wooden wheels from the carriages they pulled. And until recently it was the hum of the internal combustion engine and the buzz of car and van exhausts.

Free domestic charging point for Renault ZOE drivers in UK

Free domestic charging point for Renault ZOE drivers in UK

With a domestic charging point offered for free, UK drivers have even more reasons to purchase the Renault ZOE when it arrives on their market in June.

As soon as customers place their order for the ZOE, Renault will contact British Gas, the company responsible for supplying and installing the charger in the customer's home. The installation of the 32-amp single-wall box will take place roughly one month before the vehicle is delivered, ensuring everything is up and running by the time the ZOE arrives at its new home.

French retailer E. Leclerc joins zero-emission club

E. Leclerc, one of the biggest retailers in France, has accelerated the move towards a zero emission future by joining forces with Renault to form the Z.E. Club des 50.

The Club, which strengthens local links between E. Leclerc hypermarkets and nearby Renault dealers, will be established in early 2013. In time it will grow to become the Z.E. Club des 500 as more E. Leclerc outlets team up with Renault’s 500-strong dealership network across the country.

French Minister takes delivery of first ZOE

French Minister takes delivery of first ZOE

The very first Renault ZOE has been delivered to its new keeper. And fittingly the keys have been handed over to Arnaud Montebourg, France’s Industry Minister, who placed his order at the Paris Motor Show in September.

It’s fitting because ZOE – Renault’s newest all-electric vehicle – is fully in line with the French Government’s ‘Plan Automobile’ policy to promote zero emission mobility. The plan promises an extensive network of charging stations and to include electric vehicles in public fleets.

But it’s now been joined by a second event over the same weekend, this one looking to cars of the future rather than the past.

Béatrice Foucher, VP of Renault's Electric Vehicle Program, discusses how the new ZOE will complete the company's EV offering

With its modern looks, extended range and easy to drive attitude, the new Renault ZOE – launched at this week’s Paris Motor Show and in showrooms shortly – is going to make a significant contribution to the company’s EV sales.

Renault is on target to sell 20,000 electric vehicles across Europe in 2012, a figure that will rise considerably in 2013 as ZOE completes the company’s four strong EV range joining Kangoo Z.E., Fluence Z.E. and Twizy. Foucher has a soft spot for Twizy a car she says is ‘a real Renault.’ “It’s innovative, different and fun: there’s nothing else like it on the roads.”

ZOE brings electric mobility ever closer

ZOE brings electric mobility ever closer

Renault ZOE is undoubtedly one of the most significant cars at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The reason? It brings electric vehicles closer to the mass market by being seriously affordable.

The compact hatchback, purpose designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, is being shown at Geneva in its final production form prior to sales starting in the autumn. In France, prices will start at just €15,700.

As well as being truly innovative, it’s also one of the most usable EVs yet created, with a range of 210km (NEDC)… the first mass-market EV capable of such a distance between charges.
