When it comes to buying new cars, it’s men that make all the decisions, right? Wrong… with a capital W. In fact research has shown that, worldwide, 80 per cent of all car buying decisions are influenced by women.

 

The Alliance will be heading to the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the 16th consecutive year in Davos, Switzerland!

 

Join us this week for regular updates and highlights on the WEF. This year’s Annual Meeting boasts the world’s top leaders in business, government and academia, coming together to discuss and set the global public policy and economic agenda.

 

On Jan. 13, Nissan’s CEO Carlos Ghosn hosted a media roundtable at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. During the roundtable, Ghosn fielded questions from reporters on various topics including his outlook for the global auto market in 2015, China, Russia, as well as electric vehicles and autonomous drive cars.

 

In November, the Alliance sold its 200,000th electric vehicle – by far more than all major automakers combined. To capture what the first 200,000 owners love about their EVs, the Alliance has launched a series of videos featuring EV owners on three continents. “I Made the Switch” tells why people bought their electric vehicles and how switching to a zero-emission vehicle has changed their lives.

 

The FIA Formula E Championship drivers and teams returned to action in Buenos Aires a few days into the New Year, at the fourth ePrix of the season. After an incident-packed race, Antonio Felix da Costa (Amlin Aguri) won the Argentinian event, which also saw displays of models from the Renault ZE range and the first ever Formula E School Series race. 

 

Nissan Motor Co., through its North American-based organization, and NASA announced on January 9th the formation of a five-year research and development partnership to advance autonomous vehicle systems and prepare for commercial application of the technology.
