British Gas launches UK's largest ever electric commercial vehicle pilot with Nissan e-NV200

British Gas has launched the UK’s largest ever electric commercial vehicle pilot with 28 Nissan e-NV200 vans. The nationwide pilot will last for six months and will assess how the vans perform in winter conditions under typical British Gas home services usage patterns. 

With 13,000 home services vans, British Gas’ fleet is one of the largest in the UK. The e-NV200 is Nissan’s second electric model, after the multi-award winning compact hatchback LEAF, and will go on sale next year.

Ghosn said that the partnership, which began in April 2010 to increase economies of scale for all three companies, has expanded to the point where ‘it is part of our corporate DNA’.
